The Art of Conscious Eldering

September 12 @ 4:00 pm - September 17 @ 1:00 pm

In these troubling times, the passion, wisdom, and service of true elders has become an urgent need throughout the world. As we age, we are called to step up and to grow into the wholeness that has throughout history defined those recognized as true elders by their community.

This third chapter of life presents us with unique opportunities to ripen into the fullness of our potential for emotional and spiritual growth.  In this highly experiential introduction to conscious eldering, join us to explore paths of wisdom, fulfillment,  resilience and service, as well as the challenges—including internalized and societal ageism—of a conscious, intentional approach to our journey through our later life chapters.

Together, through shared practices, discussions and rituals, we examine five foundational elements that are key to fulfilling our potential as elders: Belief, Release of the Past, Purpose, Community, and Spiritual Deepening. The three-stage dynamic of the life transition process is the thread that weaves these elements into an empowering vision of elderhood for this challenging era.

Ron Pevny, MA is founding director of the Center for Conscious Eldering, author of the book Conscious Living, Conscious Aging, and with Katia Petersen is currently co-authoring The Art of Conscious Eldering: A 52-Week Personal GrowthBook  for Aging With Passion and Purpose.  For more than 40 years, his calling has been to assist people in negotiating life transitions as they create lives of purpose and passion.
